Galima, tik reikia žiūrėti, kad kevalai būtų švarūs ir nepakeitę spalvos, nes žemės riešutai ir jų kevalai gali turėti aflatoksino, kurį išskiria mikroskopinis grybas Aspergillus flavus. Geriau pirkti ne gyvūnams, o žmonėms skirtus žemės riešutus, tada didesnė tikimybė, kad jie švaresni, geresnės kokybės, aišku, nesūdytus.
